How Smallsupplier works

CUSTOMER SECTOR

Smallsupplier improves the ability of small suppliers to reach and promote their products and services to a larger marketplace - locally, regionally or nationally.

Smallsupplier has reached agreement with a number of major symbol groups and convenience store retailers to list their local and regional suppliers of goods and services who are trading through smallsupplier into more than 4000 outlets across the United Kingdom.

Suppliers are categorised by products, services and distribution area served. This facility provides buyers and independent retailers with significantly improved visibility of alternative sources of supply. Additionally, and at no extra cost, if a supplier has a website Smallsupplier will provide a hyperlink to it.

There is no restriction on the product or service listed within Smallsupplier. However, the supplier must be approved before any marketing or supply takes place using the smallsupplier.com introduction or invoice administration process.

Following approval from Smallsupplier, the supplier will be expected to pass all sales invoices for existing and new business for the symbol or retail group that he has been approved to service through Smallsupplier. There are no written contracts issued by smallsupplier.com since the business relationship is founded on mutual trust and integrity. Suppliers are free to withdraw their participation at any time, subject to the status of outstanding invoices.

INTERFACING MODEL

Smallsupplier offers a unique marketing and invoicing scheme that improves the efficiency of existing procedures by improving the supply of products and services, whilst at the same time dramatically reducing financial administration costs.

Although large companies realise the benefits and ethics of dealing with smaller suppliers it is not always practical in terms of liaison, logistics and administration. Smallsupplier deals with these issues by arranging supply deals, invoicing electronically and receiving payments on behalf of the suppliers.

As an example, Smallsupplier manages and controls the delivery of fresh milk and numerous other commodities into a national convenience store company with over 1500 outlets. As far as the convenience store company is concerned, they only deal with smallsupplier, whether that be for pricing, payments or general queries. They don't deal with, as could be the case, over 180 different suppliers.

Cost savings and efficiencies are the key benefits. Supporting local suppliers and communities also helps all parties in the supply chain, not least of all the consumer.

If you are interested in learning more about this scheme, please contact Smallsupplier through the Contact Us page. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
